LION KING ADVENTURE 2020

Introduction

 

With the much-anticipated live-action remake of Disney’s “The Lion King” having released in July 2019, we have put together a rip-roaring 10 day safari, following in the paw prints of Simba and his friends.

 

Come and meet some of the characters in their natural environment: lion cubs like Simba and Nala, majestic adults like Mufasa and Scar – and not forgetting Pumbaa the warthog, Zazu the hornbill and those pesky hyenas – Shenzi, Banzai & Ed.

Your Lion King adventure will start in Nairobi National Park, with a visit to the famous Elephant Orphanage, continue to Selenkay Conservancy & Amboseli with views of the impressive Mt Kilimanjaro, then to Ol Pejeta Conservancy which is home to the World’s last two Northern White Rhinos. You will continue to Meru National Park, well known for another famous lion “Elsa”, and finally to Olare Motorogi Conservancy, staying at Porini Lion Camp and visiting the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. Olare Motorogi and the surrounding Conservancies have the highest density of free-roaming lions in Africa, as discovered by the Mara Lion Project who conducted extensive research into lion locations and behaviour in 2016. Prides residing within Olare Motorogi Conservancy include the Oldikidiki Pride and the Ridge Pride.

 

 

Safari Highlights

 

The Lion King Safari offers an excellent chance of seeing the big cats by combining stays at the Porini Camps and game drives in Nairobi National Park, Selenkay Conservancy, Amboseli National Park, Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia, Meru National park, Olare Motorogi Conservancy and the Mara Reserve.

 

Prices include; accommodation, meals, drinks, park fees, game drives in 4×4 vehicles and flying between the parks.

 

This price represents a huge saving on normal rates and the safari itinerary for 9 nights includes:

 

  • 1 night Nairobi Tented Camp, Nairobi National Park

 

  • 2 nights Porini Amboseli Camp, Selenkay Conservancy, Amboseli

 

  • 2 nights Porini Rhino Camp, Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Laikipia

 

  • 2 nights Rhino River Camp, Meru National Park

 

  • 2 nights Porini Lion Camp, Olare Motorogi, Maasai Mara

 

Extra nights can be added at any of the camps.

 

There will be flights between areas to get you straight to the wildlife without spending hours travelling between the parks over rough roads and game drives from the camps in shared 4×4 safari Land Cruisers with professional guides. (Private vehicles available at a supplement).

To make it easy for you to book, our prices are all fully-inclusive of accommodation, meals, domestic flights, day & night game drives, guided walks, sundowners and park fees.

 

Prices include:

  • Pick up on arrival and transfer to the Nairobi Tented camp for 1 night.

  • Scheduled flight to Amboseli on day 2.

  • 2 nights in Porini Amboseli Camp with daily Selenkay Conservancy fees and one day Amboseli National Park entrance fee and Maasai village visit.

  • Flight to Wilson Airport on day 4 where you will connect to another schedule flight to Nanyuki Airstrip, met and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp.

  • 2 nights at Porini Rhino Camp with daily Ol Pejeta Conservancy fees and visit to Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

  • Flight to Meru National Park on day 6.

  • 2 nights at Rhino River Camp with daily Meru National Park Park fees.

  • Flight to Olare Airstrip, Maasai Mara, met and transferred to Porini Lion Camp on day 8.

  • 2 nights at Porini Lion Camp with daily Olare Motorogi Conservancy fees, and one day Masai Mara Game Reserve entrance fee.

  • All camps are based on full board basis including soft drinks, beer, house wine, gin & tonic, mineral water.

  • All return conservancy airstrip transfers.

  • Day & night shared game drives in 4×4 safari vehicle with qualified guide, sundowners, walks with Maasai warriors.

  • Last day fly back to Wilson Airport.

Prices exclude: International flights to / from Nairobi, travel insurance, Kenya Visas and tips / gratuities.

 

  • Porini Camps are closed from 16th April to 31st May.

 

  • In low season, the flight to Porini Amboseli Camp is into Amboseli National Park. In high season, the flight to Porini Amboseli Camp is into Selenkay Conservancy.

Prices are subject to currency fluctuations and may change.

 

Child rates applicable to children aged 8 to 16 years:

 

  • 1 child sharing with 2 adults – child pays child package price above and 2 adults each pay the per adult sharing rate.

 

  • 1 child sharing with 1 adult – child pays child package price above and adult pays the single adult rate.

 

  • 2 or 3 children sharing in own tent – each child pays 75% of the per adult rate.

 

  • Camps not recommended for children aged under 8 years.

 

  • Exclusive vehicle: sole use of the open sided 4×4 safari vehicle during game drive US$ 375 per vehicle per day.

 

Late Afternoon Departure: Late departure from camp after 10.00 a.m. is US$ 125 per person – minimum 2 people (includes lunch, soft drinks and activities before departure in the late afternoon with transfer to airstrip. Guests are required to check out of their tent by 10.00).
