Tamarind Dhows "Nawalilkher" and "Babulkher" offering you and your guests a magical experience together with the finest of Tamarind cuisine. Nawalilkher, with a capacity for 70 pax for dinner and 100 for cocktails, is the main dhow available for individual bookings. Babulkher, with a capacity of 60 pax for dinner and 80 pax for cocktails, will also be available for exclusive hire. We will, of course, remain flexible to your requirements at all times depending on your numbers - if you have incentive groups that require both dhows please let us know in good time. 
 
Schedule for both Dhows is as follows:

 

• Lunch consists of a delicious Tamarind seafood platter, or a prime Kenyan fillet steak followed by fresh tropical fruit salad, and rounded off with Kenya coffee and halwa. The dhow returns to the jetty at 3.00 pm. The lunchtime cruise departs from the Tamarind jetty at 1.00 pm. Cruise gently up the Tudor creek to a quiet spot where the Dhow moors.

• The dinner cruise commencing at 6.30 pm, begins with a welcome "Dawa" cocktail as the dhow sails smoothly towards Fort Jesus.  The twinkling lights of Mombasa and the starlit skies provide idyllic surroundings for a delicious seafood dinner.   The resident DJ offers a wide choice of dance music, from the latest hits to the golden oldies. Dance to the beat as you gently glide back to the Tamarind Jetty by 10.30 pm.

• Lunch cruise: Kshs 6,000 (USD 60) per person.

• Dinner Cruise: Kshs 8,250 (USD 80) per person.

• Children between  2 - 11 years are entitled to 50% discount.

 

THE MOMBASA TAMARIND

Alternatively, you could dine at the Mombasa Tamarind Restaurant with a spectacular ocean view at special discounts provided to you by Swahili Eco Tours & Safaris. The Mombasa Tamarind has often been voted restaurant of the year and still enjoys international acclaim as one of Africa's finest seafood restaurants. However, this often makes it difficult for you to book groups for dinner in the high season, so please be sure to make your reservations in advance. They are open daily for lunch and dinner.

Special discounted prices for their set menus are:

• Kilindini menu - Kshs 3,300 per person.

• Kilifi menu - Kshs 4,100 per person.

• Lamu menu - Kshs 4,400 per person.
